Roberta Macdonald is a retired Certified Mental Health Counselor and a retired educator with over 40 years of experience teaching children, teens and parents. She currently facilitates a class, Calming Down: a Daily Self-Management Course at Bellevue College, North Campus.
Her book, Parent Success: 99 Ways to Make It Happen, was written and used in many parent classes in the greater Seattle area for over 30 years. Roberta wrote the Parent Success book so that parents who are burdened with many parenting challenges and unexpected stressors will have a simple daily guide.
After reading the Course in Miracles many times, Roberta wrote Parent Success in 1994 and has continued being a student of the Course. The main tenets of the Course: love, forgiveness and finding the True Self in each person inspired Roberta to write the book. She also, uses these tenets in her Calming Down class.
To find a “tip”, Roberta put the book in alphabetical order with 99 practical, positive and encouraging tools on each page. These tools remind parents of the important values and tenets parents may forget in the challenging world we live in. This is an easy and valuable book for parents of all age children.
